SUMMARY:
Our client, a national company in the Automotive manufacturing environment, currently seeks an Industrial Engineer to manage, monitor and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives to the plant, equipment and processes in order to optimise utilisation of organisational resources.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science: Engineering (Industrial) Degree.
Minimum 5 Years’ experience in a similar role
Ability to read and develop CAD Drawings
IATF 16949:2016 Standards

Key Performance Areas:

Process Control:

Review planned and scheduled production (sales requirements, stock levels, process cleaning requirements, etc.)
Improve and maintain scheduled changeovers according to the Production Plan.
Capacity planning and calculation to determine overtime / planned stop requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

Conduct R&D of new/existing technologies/plant/processes.
Lead and drive Continues Improvement in the plant.
Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the plant:

Kaizen;
Six Sigma;
Standardised Work;
VA/VE (Value Added/Value Engineered).

Production:

Optimise the production processes for improvements.
Improve and maintain manufacturing and production efficiencies.
Ensure the optimal and efficient use of resources.
Improve the balance on the production lines (manning levels).
Monitor the achievement of daily production targets.
Analyse daily production variances and identify opportunities for improvements.
Investigate and resolve manufacturing related problems and sub-standard performance.

Raw Material Management:

Monitor the level of production material usage per batch and develop solutions for improving on material yields.

Project Management:

Schedule project activities to facilitate effective project execution.
Follow the IATF 16949:2016 Standard, policies and procedures requirements.

Reporting:

Compile project, CIP, process reports and presentations.
