Industrial Relations Specialist

SUMMARY:
Our client operating in the manufacturing sector is seeking to appoint an IR Specialist who will be required to manage the IT portfolio and provide specialist support to the business to maintain a harmonious working environment and conflict resolution in-line with company policy and relevant legislation.

POSITION INFO:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in HR or similar
• Legal training/qualification will be an added advantage
• 6 to 8 years’ experience in a labour relations position  
• Advanced experience with union engagements, bargaining council/ CCMA representation
• Sound knowledge and experience of the application of the relevant Acts and regulations (LRA, BCEA, Skills Development, Employment Equity Act)
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong advisory skills
• Good Coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Ability to interpret and implement policies, processes and objectives

Key Result Areas

• IR policies and processes developed/ amended in line with Labour laws and best practice
• IR consultations to comply with law
• IR training programs developed and initiated
• IR matters addressed/ resolved
• Successfully represent the company at CCMA and bargaining council
• Successfully conclude union negotiations and recognition agreements
• Audit compliant at all times
