Institutional Client Research Analyst

An established, and well rated asset manager is looking for an Institutional Client Research Analyst to join their team in Cape Town. 

The main focus of the role is to produce high quality investment research that fulfil the needs of institutional clients. 

This role is suited to a candidate with a strong quantitative / actuarial background, with 5+ years' experience in investments. CA(SA) / CFA / MBA candidates will also be considered. An advanced knowledge of local and international financial markets, economics and politics would be ideal. 

Key to this role is having the right attitude: client focused mentality; innovative and solutions focused, with excellent communication skills. 

Some key focus areas of the role: 

• Produce professional investment research reports which addresses the needs of clients
• Respond to bespoke technical investment requests from clients or colleagues
• Produce performance charts, volatility, drawdown, tracking error analysis etc in Excel
• Engage in research and readings to stay apprised about the state of the South African investment environment, global financial markets and current events
• Meet with the investment teams to get updates with regards to their investment decision making processes
• Developing insights into the institutional landscape by performing industry and competitor research
