SUMMARY:
Must have both a Trade Test and a Diploma with Refinery, Chemical Plant or Mining Experience.

POSITION INFO:

NQF Level 6 National Diploma in Instrumentation and Process Control with an Instrument Mechanician Trade Test essential.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in control systems, including SCADA and PLC Networks required.
Sound knowledge of process control systems, piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Knowledge of HAZOP studies and a good understanding of mining / refining and chemical plant processes.
Excellent calculation, problem solving, analytical and advanced computer skills.
Medically fit for Base Metal Refineries (BMR)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

Control and perform instrumentation maintenance by conducting regular plant inspections, perform consistent plant maintenance, purchase spares and maintain spare levels.
Implement modifications and renewals by attending HAZOP studies, select and purchase required equipment.
Install and commission equipment, including PLC commissioning and programming.
Perform and document calibrations as per ISO standards on relevant equipment.
Attend to breakdowns and assist instrumentation personnel on technical matters to maintain optimal plant availability.
Ensure compliance with safety, security, health, environmental and quality standards / procedures.
