We’re looking for a Data Scientist with an investigative mindset — someone who thrives on solving puzzles, supporting actuarial teams, and transforming complex datasets into insights that actually move the business forward.

POSITION INFO:
Join a forward-thinking insurer where data and analytics drive every decision. You’ll collaborate closely with Actuaries and business leaders to influence pricing, reserving, and risk strategies — all while helping the business stay ahead in a fast-evolving IFRS 17 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner with actuarial and business teams to deliver insights on pricing, reserving, and risk.
Analyse large and complex insurance datasets to identify patterns and opportunities.
Support IFRS 17 reporting with accurate, compliant data pipelines.
Build and optimise predictive models and reporting tools.
Turn complex technical results into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (Honours/Master’s an advantage).
Proven experience within the insurance industry (essential).
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar tools.
Understanding of IFRS 17 and insurance data structures.
Strong analytical mindset and communication skills — you can explain complex data in plain English.
