An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Intermediate SQL Developer to join a high-performing technology team. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimising Microsoft SQL Server databases and reporting solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions. Duties: Design, develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, views and triggers. Develop and optimise complex T-SQL queries to improve database performance. Design, develop and support ETL processes using SSIS. Create and maintain reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI. Analyse execution plans and implement query optimisation and indexing strategies. Support database deployments, production incidents and root cause analysis. Ensure data integrity, security and compliance across database environments. Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, QA teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain database documentation and adhere to development standards and best practices. Job Experience & Skills Required: Qualifications: Matric (Grade 12) National Diploma, BTech or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. Experience: 3-5 years' commercial experience as a SQL Developer. Strong Microsoft SQL Server development experience. Advanced T-SQL skills. Experience developing stored procedures, functions, triggers and views. Hands-on experience with SSIS. Experience with SSRS and\/or Power BI. Solid understanding of relational database design and data modelling. Experience with query optimisation, indexing and performance tuning. Exposure to Git and\/or Azure DevOps. Experience working in Agile development environments. Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory or other Microsoft Azure data services. Exposure to SSAS or Data Warehousing. Microsoft SQL Server certifications. Experience within Financial Services, Insurance or Technology environments. Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. High attention to detail. Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deliverables.
