Intermediate Software Developer - Stellenbosch

SUMMARY:
My client, a leading fintech innovator in the secure payments space, is looking for a skilled Intermediate Developer to join their development team based in Stellenbosch. This is a hybrid role—with the first 6 months based on-site, followed by a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

🧠 What You’ll Be Doing

• Integrate new clients into existing systems and platforms
• Design, develop, and test new features and enhancements
• Maintain and improve current systems
• Resolve 3rd-line support queries
• Participate in system audits and security improvements
• Contribute to continuous improvements in development practices and processes

🔧 Core Tech Stack & Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3–5 years of hands-on software development experience
• Proficient in Java (Standard & Enterprise Editions) and Spring Boot
• Strong experience with SQL (MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL)
• Familiar with tools like Eclipse/NetBeans, Maven, and Git
• Experience working in a CI/CD environment
• Understanding of OpenAPI protocols

➕ Nice to Have

• Experience with financial transaction processing systems
• Exposure to multi-threaded, real-time, high-volume systems
• Familiarity with Postilion (source/sink node development)
• Agile methodology experience (Scrum, Kanban)
• Exposure to front-end frameworks, particularly Angular
