Gijima is recruiting 1 x Back-up and Storage Intern for their Infrastructure Services department.

POSITION INFO:
The criteria is as follows:- Candidates must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification in IT (i.e. National Diploma or degree) with knowledge of Linux, Unix or Wintel, VMware & Hyper-V and Oracle, MSSQL, DB2) International Certifications will be advantageous (VERITAS Netbackup, Hitachi, Brocade) Candidates must have no criminal record. Candidates must currently be unemployed. Candidates must currently NOT be enrolled at a tertiary institution. Candidates must not be participating on another learnership or internship program. Candidates must live in Gauteng (preferably in the Midrand area) - relocation is NOT an option; Candidates must be under the age of 35 as of 01 July 2026 Candidates must be a South African Citizen (African, Indian and Coloured); Competencies\/Skills Required: - Solid network\/systems knowledge and understanding of industry standards and practices Automation knowledge Databases backup and restore knowledge Any scripting \/ programming experience will be an advantage Understanding of Service Level Agreements and customer service management Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and maintain organization's Storage Area Network and Network Attached Storage devices. Troubleshoots basic SAN\/NAS issues and infrastructure issues Monitor, manage, and assess storage resource usage Monitor Service Request tickets and\/or email requests for assignment and resolve, update and close as appropriate.
