Gijima is recruiting 1 x Network Engineer intern for their Amsa in Newcastle Kwa Zulu Natal for an Internship program.

POSITION INFO:
The criteria is as follows:-

• Candidates must have completed a 3-year tertiary qualification in IT Networks Communication (i.e. Diploma in IT; Support Services, Fortinet NSE4 Certified .)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Candidates must be computer literate and must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, e-mail, internet
• No criminal record
• Candidates must currently be unemployed
• Candidates must not be participating on another learnership or internship program
• Candidates must currently not be enrolled with any other tertiary institution
• Candidates must live in Newcastle (relocation is NOT an option)
• Candidates must be under the age of 35 as of 31 August 2025
• Candidates must be a South African Citizen – African, Coloured and Indian

• Fortinet NSE4 Certified
• Fortinet NSE7 Certified will be advantageous
• CCIE certified and additional Cisco specialisations would be an advantage
• Ability to relate and network with people
• Ability to analyse and interpret information
• Quality management - Ensures quality service delivery in accordance with standards as communicated

• Provide Guidance to the company regarding market trends and strategic directions in terms of all ICT matters
• Conduct Research, advise and guide networking department in terms of new technologies, gearing to future proof network solutions.
• Conceptualise Solutions and do detail low level engineering designs from high level solutions to enable network specialists to do the deployment for new solutions sold.
• Interface with Pre-Sales to establish networking products, solutions and services that compete in a world class market.
• Provide Guidance to the Networking department in terms of the technical application of networking skills.
• Demonstrate strong network design and technical engineering.
• Make recommendations for changes in the internal and client organisation’s use of the products and services supplied in order to increase the benefits the clients will ultimately obtain from Gijima, and help ensure client retention
• Constantly utilises technical engineering experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicality of alternatives, combining technical limitations with operational realities
• Guide the advanced high-level problem management process as defined by ITIL.
