This company is on the lookout for energetic and self-motivated individuals with a passion for service to innovate and evolve the banking industry.  The incumbent in this role will manage the entire internal audit function to ensure that it adds value to the organization, which includes a group of companies, and its stakeholders though the provision of objective and relevant assurance and consulting.  The manager will also be tasked with contributing to the effectiveness of governance and control processes. Education:

• Honours (Commerce/ Banking)
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Work experience of 10 years as an Internal Auditor
• 5 years’ managerial experience in a retail bank environment, managing a team of 5 or more
• Experienced in project planning and management thereof
• Applying business acumen and commercial understanding, specifically in terms of internal audit practices in a banking environment.
• A good understanding of internal audit and information systems audit standards and processes.
• Proficiency in IRFS and GAAS proficiency
• Good knowledge on accounting, economics, commercial law, taxation, finance, and information technology
• Analytical Skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Must operate within the rules of regulating bodies such as the IIA, ISACA, SARB, FSCA
• Operate and run audits compliant with legislation such as the Companies Act, Banks Act, National Credit Act and more.
• Must liaise with external service providers and internal departments within the bank and other departments such as HR, Finance, Operational Risk and Business Development & Technology Services
• Managing and leading the internal audit function for Retail Bank
  • Operational management of Retail Bank Internal Audit function.
  • responsible for ensuring the team perform the auditing fieldwork in terms of the audit programme:
  • Lead and manage audit reviews delivering audit outputs, including final reports within agreed timeframes and in accordance with Internal Audit Standards
  • Monitoring and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Recruitment to recruit in line with the business’ future fit vision.
  • Promote continuous learning, sharing and the use of best practice methodologies and ensure that staff are up to date with initiatives in the Internal Audit department and across the business.
  • enable and enhance the operation of the department.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to determine how to improve auditing standards and processes across the business.
