A mining company in South Africa is looking for an Internal auditor. This organisation is all about is advancing its projects throughout the world.

The appointed person will work closely with the Internal Audit Manager in testing the controls identified for SOX compliance purposes as well as Internal Audit reviews to ensure that the compliance testing as well as the audit plan are successfully carried out in order to report to the Board through the Audit Committee.

Duties:

Undertaking internal audits including IT audits to ensure the company meets its financial, operational and compliance objectives
Supporting the development of an assurance planning reporting process
Reporting on control deficiencies to management and making recommendations to mitigate risk and add value
Conduct Internal Audit reviews (including General Computer Control reviews)
Engaging remediation of identified issues through follow-up
Evidenced in working papers; process flows, process descriptions, policy & procedures and recommendations
Achieved within deadline and specified quality
Maintain Key Stakeholder Relationships
Communicating with a variety of stakeholders across the company

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 120
BCom / Honors degree in Accounting or Internal Audit
IT auditing qualification is a BONUS!!
CIA or studying towards CIA

Experience:

3 to 5 years internal audit experience
Extensive experience in IT auditing
IT auditing knowledge
SOX knowledge is a MUST!!

High ethical standards.
Objectivity and sound judgment
Ability to think analytically, independently and creatively and take initiative if required
Ability to work effectively on their own and with others at all levels of the organization
Good communication skills in person and in writing
Good organizational skills
Must have the ability to adapt to change
