International Ruminant Specialist

SUMMARY:

An international manufacturer of animal health and nutrition solutions is seeking an experienced Ruminant Specialist to develop products and solutions sales in Africa, Middle-East, Central Asia and Asia-pacific areas.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a BSc (Agric) Animal Science degree, MSc, PhD, or B.V.Sc. specialising in the Ruminant domain
• Strong working knowledge of Ruminant nutrition, production methods and/or diseases issues will be required
• At least 5 year relevant experience is essential
• Must have a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively

 
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing customer technical support in designated areas, with the intervention of the Global Ruminant Manager and R&D department whenever relevant.
• Developing and conducting training for Regional Technical Managers, sales team and distributors.
• Supporting and applying recommendations for existing Ruminant products.
• Conducting, monitoring, analysing and reporting local validation trials with newly developed products, new applications or new product projects for Ruminants.
• Presenting data in scientific symposia.
• Contributing to the development of new products, new customer solutions, marketing plans and R&D project prioritization.
• Supporting technical & sales teams in gaining new business and maintaining existing clients by effective application of the products.
• Contributing to the management of selected key accounts by customizing technical services and by providing specific technical support.
• Orchestrating field evaluations of Ruminant products.
• Contributing to the preparation of articles, newsletter and technical documents.
• Consulting with the R&D team and global specie manager team for the writing and publishing of local academic papers.
• Providing technical information and support to all new, existing and potential accounts, to improve customer relationships.
• Conducting, monitoring, analysing and reporting field trials.
• Maintaining updated knowledge of processes or ingredient changes in the livestock feed and production industries.
• Contributing to product portfolio management and participating in the construction of competitive product range and innovation programs.
• Proposing trials to the R&D team that answer market needs and anticipate competition.
• Ensuring timely and accurate completion of research, product application and line extension projects.
• Identifying potential innovations that could fit with market analysis led by the Global Ruminant Manager.
• Contributing to market analysis and marketing strategy.
• Following market innovations and product positioning of competing companies and identifying market needs, opportunities and key success factors.
• Proposing Ruminant strategy to their Regional Director, Area Managers and the Global Ruminant Manager and contribute to the implementation with commercial teams.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
