SUMMARY:

Are you a driven “hands on” Cost Accountant who is good at implementing new systems, with a passion for numbers?

We require your experience preferably in FMCG, fresh produce sector, to drive the stock control process for the manufacturing and retail operations, as well as rolling out a new POS system.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Matric, tertiary education in finance and costing

Minimum 5 - 8 years cost accounting and inventory experience

Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans

Ability to train and communicate with people on all levels

Excellent financial acumen with a love for numbers

Experience negotiating with suppliers

Experience assisting with implementation of new systems advantageous

Ability to manage the process independently taking full responsibility of the full process

Computer literate - pastel evolution, odessey, excel

Experience in fresh food produce highly advantageous

DUTIES

The implementation and maintenance of inventory data in Pastel Evolution

Ensuring that all internal inventory controls are maintained and implemented

Ensuring that the quantity and costing of the inventory is accurate, and that inventory is not misstated

Maintenance of the inventory Masterfile and warehouse locations on pastel Evolution

Ensure that the inventory costing relating to imported products and local products are accurate and the inventory is priced accordingly

Ensuring that the bills of material are accurate and the cost of inventory is priced correctly

Ensure that stock takes are performed at all the Retail Stores

Capture the data and calculate the gross profit achieved at all Retail Stores

Drawing the inventory reports and analysing the variances

Reconciling the stock take on hand to the stock per the general ledger account

Responsible for controlling the pricing matrix on pastel and ensuring that the correct inventory discount level is used per customer

Product costing and costing analysis

Responsible for managing the minimum stock levels and ensuring that stock is ordered on time at the right price

Control stock wastage/theft

Ensure that stock shortages are investigated and reported on

Negotiate discounts with suppliers

Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
