Inventory Planner

SUMMARY:
Our client, leading chemical / Oil & Gas processing and supply company, seeks to employ a suitably qualified and industry experienced Inventory/Logistics Planner to join their progressive and professional team, in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

This is a critical and key role to the efficient functioning of the business and forms a critical link between operations, finance and sales, therefore we require a candidate who meets the following criteria:

• You will have completed a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain or related field, coupled with 5 years experience in inventory/materials planning, logistics coordination for operations and purchase forecasting within the Oil & Gas, Petro-chem or Chemical Processing environment
• You will have proven experience in managing an ERP system such as Oracle, Syspro or SAP, with expert Excel skills
• You must have previous worked in a cross-functional team, assisting Production and Sales with planning of stock required for processing, forecasting sales/production according to previous trends, evaluating bulk material movements and updating supplier price lists for finance to forecast production costs
• Experience in working with cylinders, tanks and hazardous materials is essential, as well as being able to ensure HSE and Quality standards are met and exceeded.
• You must be able to work independently and accurately keep records and be proactive in your approach to ensuring the profitability of the company.
• You must have a valid driver’s license, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
