JOB DESCRIPTION
The Company Investigators primary purpose is to provide support to the Security department with all internal and external investigations. The investigator will be responsible for, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)
- Conduct internal investigations into theft, fraud, misconduct, accidents, safety breaches, and other security-related incidents.
- Gather, analyze, and preserve evidence in accordance with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Interview witnesses, suspects, and employees to obtain accurate statements.
- Draft clear, factual, and detailed investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
- Liaise with law enforcement and other external agencies when required.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, security protocols, and access control systems.
- Support disciplinary processes by presenting findings and evidence.
- Conduct surveillance and monitoring where necessary to prevent losses or breaches.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Provide recommendations to improve security systems, procedures, and overall risk management.
- Assist with training of security staff on investigation techniques and incident reporting.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as and when required.
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate (relevant tertiary qualification in Security, Policing, or Criminology will be advantageous).
- PSIRA registration (Grade B or higher preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in investigations, preferably within the security or law enforcement sector.
- Strong knowledge of investigative procedures, evidence handling, and legal processes.
- Excellent interviewing, analytical and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, incident management systems).
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Preparedness to work irregular hours, weekends, or public holidays when required.
- Knowledge of the Second Hand Goods Act is advantageous.

Standard hours
07h30 – 17h00: Monday to Thursday
07h30 – 16h00: Friday
Will be required to work overtime as per operational requirements
