Investment Accountant

Responsibilities :

 Preparation of month end reporting and sending to client  Daily processing and valuation of retirement fund  Loading of offshore and local dividends and coupons/interest  Mark to market reconciliation and processing  Interest, swaps and money market reset rates  Running of interest and Maturities  Ensure interest, swaps and money market reset rates are captured correctly and timeously.  Attending to queries  Liaising with clients on queries  Capturing of income and expenses  Daily valuation of fund’s holdings and pricing across portfolios  3-way reconciliation to securities and cash and fund manager  Reporting NAV, Portfolio Valuation, Income receivable, Purchases and sales, Reliased/unrealised Gain and Loss  Trade processing  Pricing of funds  Daily reconciliation of dividends and interest income and Monthly and daily Withholding Tax Checks on dividends  Processing of income distributions at month endPricing of funds  Assist in trade processing of Multi Manager funds  Dividends and interest income reconciliation at month end in order to receipt correct interest amounts in the investment system  Daily cash processing of futures, call transfers.  Daily Scrip reconciliation for Multi Manager Funds  Liaise with the Custodian queries on daily basis  Prepare monthly audit packs & Liaise with Auditors queries at year end  Daily price variances reconciliation & investigations while Pricing Funds to avoid pricing errors and to clear material differences.  Daily reconciliation of various accounts (Futures recons, daily unit recon, etc.), researching and correcting variances to eliminate incorrect NAV calculation  Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and communicating same to management and assisting with resolution.  Prepare daily and monthly journals affecting the General Ledger.  Daily uploading and sending daily fund Prices to the Market (uploading finswitch file)  Monthly Withholding Tax Checks on dividends  Funds reporting to SARS every quarter end (SARB reporting).  Manage distributions  Preparation of tax returns and financial statements for Unit Trust Funds (voluntarily work.)  Load payments on bank (daily upload on CNC’s and daily multi manager transfers)  Load audit fees on Standard Charter bank every second month of the year.  Ensure all daily transactions are accurately processed in the investment and pricing system to eliminate incorrect NAV calculations.  Respond to queries in a timely manner  Work in compliance with company policies and procedures
