Investment Actuary

Cape Town

The role will offer exposure to an exciting investment world, international markets and a wide group of internal and external stakeholders.

Proposition management, investment administration, reporting, system design, technical marketing and communication.

·        Developing a deep understanding of the Product and Investment proposition.

·        Investigation, problem solving and developing solutions to various issues in the [product and investment area.

·        Product development, enhancement and pricing initiatives, which includes engaging and gathering input, generate requirements for system changes and ensuring execution and testing solutions.

·        Managing technical investment operational issues e.g. system configuration, investment trading processes, tax and fund pricing.

·        Managing and supporting corporate actions on investments e.g. fund closures, mergers, and changes.

·        Managing and supporting technical asset reviews for new investments.

·        Support in communication of technical investment issues to internal stakeholders and producing communication for external stakeholders (advisers, fund managers etc.)

·        Due diligence, set-up and onboarding for new discretionary and other fund managers, technical problem-solving support and developing and management of ongoing investment reporting.

·        Liaising with the relevant external stakeholders (fund managers, investment providers, discretionary fund managers etc.) as well as internal stakeholders (e.g. distribution, operations & finance as well as tax) to coordinate technical deliverables.

·        Qualified or nearly qualified actuary.

·        Minimum 4 years’ experience.

·        Keen interest in investment and fund management industry.

·        Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

·        Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement skills.

·        Structured, pragmatic, and well-organised approach to work.
