Investment Analyst JHB and Cape Town

Our client is seeking to employ an Investment Analyst Cape Town/JHB

Key Responsibilities

• Research reports on invetments, asset allocation and asset management
• Recommendations on investment structuring at instrument and portfollio level
• Implementtion of instruments : trading and settlement OTc and other
• Presentation to Investment Committee and Client interface team and clients
• Interact with back office and Middle Office on portfolio management and monitoring
• Contribution to report producton, quarterlies, MDDs etc
• Ability to engage at a highlevel with teams involved on the Company''''s tech stack to assist with integration of data and systems

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge oif the South African and Offshore Investment Landscape
• Instruments
• Asset Classes
• Investment Managers and their offerings
• New strategies - Decentralised Finance, crypto etc a bonus
• Legislation knowledge of CIS, Reg 28, Life Investing, UCItS, PCC''''s all advantageous
• Ability to price instruments on an OTC basis
• Experience and knowledge of pricing of pooled and unitized portfolios beneficial
• Trading skillset (derivative knowledge a bonus) to assist team
• Some exposure to Banking Investment world (OTC swaps etc)
• Good Modelling skills
• Analytical /research skills to provide in-depth performance analysis and make recommendations on instruments,k asst classes
• E.G. Global Indices, Credit instruments, derivatives, ESG etc
• Scenario Analysis of adjusting exposures to asset classes or different environments (e.g. high inflation etc)
• Good writing skills for research reports and communications preferable
• Presenting ability is a bonus
• Ability to sell on a knowledgeable basis a plus

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree - BSc/B Com or equivalent
• CFA/AccSci
• Computer Literate - exposure to Bloomberg a plus, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Powerpoint a must Presi etc a bonus
• Python, PwerBi, VBA, MatLab, SQL Skills all a plus
• Experience -More than 5 years but less than 10 with flexibility
• Deadline driven
• Good track record

• 08h00 - 17h00
• There will be occasions where the incumbent would need to work overtime
