SUMMARY:

Our client is a leading pan-African investment banking and advisory firm with a strong track record in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services across the continent. The Telecommunications team advises clients across the telecom value chain, including telecom operators, digital infrastructure providers, internet service providers, value-added service businesses, and broader technology-related sectors.

This role offers the opportunity to originate and execute M&A transactions, equity capital raises, debt financings, and strategic advisory mandates while working alongside corporate clients, financial sponsors, and infrastructure investors across Africa.

The successful candidate will play a key role in both transaction execution and business development, contributing to the continued growth of the telecommunications advisory franchise while mentoring junior team members and fostering strong client relationships.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with telecommunications operators, infrastructure owners, investors, and financial sponsors. Identify and evaluate new M&A and capital-raising opportunities within the telecommunications and digital infrastructure sectors. Prepare high-quality pitch books, sector research, thought leadership pieces, and business development materials. Lead negotiations and secure new advisory mandates. Build and review complex financial models and valuation analyses, including telecom and infrastructure-specific methodologies. Prepare information memoranda, teasers, and transaction marketing materials. Manage transactions from origination through to execution and completion. Coordinate with legal, regulatory, financial, and technical advisers throughout transaction processes. Maintain and expand relationships with institutional investors and infrastructure-focused investment groups. Collaborate with regional teams and contribute to broader business development initiatives. Mentor, coach, and support junior professionals within the team. Job Experience and Skills Required Minimum 7 years of experience within Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Private Equity, Infrastructure Investing, or Transaction Advisory. Proven transaction experience within Telecommunications, Digital Infrastructure, TMT, Fibre, Towers, Data Centres, or related sectors. Strong financial modelling, valuation, and transaction execution capabilities. Experience across mergers and acquisitions, equity capital raising, debt financing, and infrastructure finance transactions. Strong understanding of telecom and infrastructure valuation methodologies and sector metrics. Demonstrated ability to originate mandates and build long-term client relationships. Advanced analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong technology proficiency and advanced financial modelling expertise.
