Investment Business Operations Manager

POSITION INFO:

An innovative boutique investment firm that is highly reputable in the industry has an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to Executives (Investment). Their investment team offers depth of expertise across a wide range of investment disciplines, managing and administering over R600 billion.  

In this role you would provide specialist advice and support in assisting the CIO and the IT team to manage and deliver on medium to complex strategic projects as well as ensuring the efficient and timeous completion of strategic initiatives. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Process 

• Accountable for the improvement of quality, service, and work outputs, continuously recommending improvements. 
• Plan for the organisation of work outputs and process improvement activities in light of a specific situational context related to the area of specialisation. 
• Proactively identify area of specialisation related problems, determine cause and effect and recommend the best option to implement corrective action based on previous experience. 
• Provide support & assist with the development of business plans highlighting associated business risks and opportunities, with relevant stakeholders. 
• Drive the development of commercially astute business cases for strategic initiatives within IT. 
• Drive the establishment and utilisation of best-practice and fit-for-purpose management information and business intelligence frameworks within IT. 
• Drive the development, testing and reviewing of appropriate strategic scenarios for IT. 
• Drive the development, implementation, and management of the operational value chain for IT and drive the cascading of the value chain into the divisions within IT. 

Customer 

• Provide specialist expertise and advice to internal/external customers, that builds strong relationships and creates a favourable impression aligned to Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principles. 
• Provide sound consulting services and recommendations based on customer and client needs, current information, and trends analyses. 

Finance 

• Adhere to financial controls, governance and compliance policies and processes throughout an area of specialisation, contributing to cost efficiency. 

Learning and Growth 

• Contribute positively to human capability improvement, related to knowledge optimisation, and associated with area of specialisation. 

Governance 

• Comply to risk and governance policies, implement, and provide subject matter input to the development of related processes, applicable to the area of specialisation. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 1 -2 years at a junior specialist level 
• Bachelor’s degree and/or Advanced Diploma in Business/Commerce/Management Studies
