Deals Specialist sought for investment team with a focus on social / impact investment opportunities

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Fantastic opportunity to join an investments team with a focus on social / impact investment opportunities. This team is passionate and focused on making an impact in South Africa and working with promising entrepreneurs.

The role is responsible for supporting investment activities through the investment cycle origination through to post investment. The role leads all aspects of the investment transaction, from original engagement, all the technical work, due diligence and post investment management. This role is suited to an investment professional with strong investment deal cycle support and experience, as well as good business acumen along with a passion for social upliftment, economic development and inclusion. Jhb based.

Responsibilities:

Support investment due diligence, investment negotiations, investment cycles, post investment activities
Analysis of financial statements
Financial modelling preparation
Market, industry and company research
Preparing investment documents, reports, presentations, briefing papers

Requirements

Minimum of post graduate qualification / professional qualification CFA, CA(SA), MBA or similar
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the investments industry and in particular VC, Private Equity, Impact investing
Must have strong analytical and financial technical skills as well as good financial modelling skills
Passionate about investments and in particular impact investing in South Africa
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High levels of professionalism and EQ
Good team player and ability to build good working relationships
