JUNIOR ESTIMATOR / EAST LONDON – Our client is looking to employ a Junior Estimator to join their autobody workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the automotive industry who is eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced repair and restoration environment. The successful candidate will assist in preparing accurate estimates for vehicle repairs, liaise with customers and insurers, and support the overall workflow of the estimating process.
Essential Requirements:
- Matric / Tertiary/Bcom qualification advantageous
- Good attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and willing to learn industry-specific software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle construction, panel beating, or spray-painting processes will be advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing accurate and detailed quotes for vehicle body repairs and refinishing.
- Assess vehicle damage by reviewing images, inspecting vehicles, and interpreting repair requirements.
- Input data into estimating systems
- Communicate with insurance companies, customers, and internal departments to clarify requirements and authorisations.
- Follow up on outstanding estimates and approvals to ensure timely workflow.
- Maintain records of estimates and update job tracking systems regularly.
- Support the senior estimator and workshop team with administrative and technical estimating tasks.
- Adhere to industry and company standards for safety, quality, and compliance.
