SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional who is eager to build their technical skills while gaining exposure to a broad range of financial processes in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will support the finance department with daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial record keeping, timely processing of transactions, and adherence to internal controls.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Financial Processing & Record Keeping

Assist with posting journal entries to the general ledger
Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation
Perform bank, supplier statement, and petty cash reconciliations
Maintain and update financial records within the accounting system

Accounts Payable & Receivable

Capture invoices and credit notes accurately
Assist with payment runs and preparation of remittance advice
Follow up on outstanding customer accounts where required
Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices

Reporting & Financial Support

Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
Prepare reconciliations and assist with variance explanations
Support the preparation of audit files and documentation
Compile weekly and monthly financial reports as required

Compliance & Administrative Support

Maintain organised financial filing systems (digital and physical)
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Provide ad hoc support to the Senior Accountant and Group Financial Manager

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Basic understanding of IFRS and accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables advantageous)
Experience with accounting software such as Xero would be beneficial

Experience

Minimum 1-2 years’ relevant accounting or finance experience (including internships)
Exposure to bookkeeping, financial administration, and transactional finance tasks
