Junior Accountant

Area: Pretoria North

Salary: R20000 P/M

Purpose of position: The junior accountant is required to support the business with the day-to-day accounting requirements as well as preparation and submission of group reporting. The position will also support the Finance Team as well as provide some support commercial aspects of the business

Duties:

End-to-end accounting

• Perform GL entries when needed

• Prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis

• Monthly statutory submissions to SARS

• Ensures compliance with tax and accounting regulations

• Liaise with external Auditor as required

• Support team with day-to-day finance queries

Duties Group Reporting (COGNOS)

• Prepare monthly input into financial reports

• Prepare, update and maintain the upload file for group reporting

• Analyze monthly financial reports against budgets and forecasts

• Submit month end reports within the set group deadlines

• Support the finance team with month end activities

Internal Reporting (Qlikview and ACCPAC)

• Monitor and maintain data integrity within the system

• Perform month-end system program runs for closing activities.

• Perform integrated systems’ reconciliation (Qlikview vs ACCPAC)

• Support the commercial team with sales and other related data request

• Weekly reporting on Orders, Sales and Inventory

• Monthly reporting on Orders, Sales and Inventory against Targets

• Preparing reporting on management accounts to the business

Projects

• Finance improvement and stream-lining projects

• Ad-hoc business projects

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree or National Diploma in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience
• Knowledge of statutory accounting principles.
• Experience of working on AccPac
• Knowledge of Cognos and Qlikview advantageous
• Analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems.
• Knowledge of intercompany transacting and processing
• Strong Excel skills and experience with large spreadsheets (Will be tested)
