JOB SUMMARY:
A well-known and established chemical company requires the above to assist the financial manager with all the company’s accounting functions.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Diploma or Bachelors Degree or related is preferred for this role.
Previous experience having worked as a Junior Accountant or Bookkeeper is preferred but not essential for the role.
The company is happy to consider a Finance Graduate with no experience for the role.
Previous experience having worked on Pastel and or Sage is an advantage, but not a requirement as the company is willing to train the person.
The successful candidate must be computer literate with Microsoft Excel and Word experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Assisting the Financial Manager with all accounting functions within the company.
Working with inventory and supply chain, assisting with creditors and debtors as well as various other accounting duties.
Reviewing all creditor invoices for validity and accuracy.
Processing customer invoices and month end recons.
Ensuring recons are reviewed and signed off by the Financial Manager.
Processing of credit notes.
Following up on overdue accounts and escalating them to the Financial Manager.
Matching customer receipts on Pastel/Sage.
Sending out monthly statements to customers.
Processing journals when applicable.
Reconciling monthly balance sheets.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
