Junior Compliance Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client, an investment firm based in Northern Suburbs Cape Town, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Compliance Officer to join their team. This role will support the Compliance Manager in ensuring that the business adheres to all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of compliance frameworks, controls, and procedures.
• Conduct regular checks, audits, and compliance reviews to identify potential risks or breaches.
• Help draft, update, and distribute compliance policies, procedures, and manuals.
• Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, and reports.
• Assist with regulatory filings and submissions.
• Support internal training and awareness initiatives on compliance and ethical standards.
• Stay updated with changes in legislation, regulations, and compliance best practices.
• Provide general administrative and analytical support to the Compliance team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Postgraduate diploma/certification in Compliance, Risk, or Governance (advantageous).
• 2 years of experience in a compliance, legal, audit, or risk role
• Exposure to regulatory frameworks [e.g., FSCA, FAIS, AML, GDPR, POPIA] is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Good knowledge of compliance, risk, and governance principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
