SUMMARY:
Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior Data Administrator to join our IT team in Century City, Cape Town. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced technical environment, supporting fuel automation systems that operate on contactless smart card technology. The successful candidate will assist in resolving transactional anomalies, troubleshooting system issues and escalating complex matters to Level 3 Support.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor systems (site, network, server, imports, exports).
Validate and sign off system configurations for correct data flow.
Conduct system testing after updates.
Schedule and manage site imports and server exports.
Perform basic connection testing and troubleshooting.
Process EONs and assist with automation tasks.
Prioritize tasks effectively and manage support tickets (creation, follow-up, closure).
Provide professional feedback to users and escalate issues to Level 3 Support.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a support or DBA role.
Proficient in MySQL or other database query languages.
Skilled in system troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Knowledge of server scripting and scheduling (CRON / Microsoft Task Scheduler).
Strong, verifiable references.
Advantageous: Linux, PHP scripting, Docker, networking/VPN.
