My client is seeking a junior Electronic Engineer (0–3 years’ experience) to join their engineering and R&D team in Centurion, South Africa. This role is open to recent graduates and early-career engineers looking to build their expertise in advanced hardware development for international defense and aerospace applications.

The Centurion-based team operates as a key engineering hub focused on the design and delivery of ITAR-free, Electro-Optical (EO) systems, used across land, naval, and airborne platforms throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.

Role Overview
This is a hands-on engineering role where the successful candidate will be involved in the design, testing, and integration of complex electronic subsystems. You will contribute to the full product development cycle, working alongside a cross-functional team of engineers in optics, mechanics, software, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom electronic hardware for EO systems, including analog and digital circuits.
- Assist in embedded system development using microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoCs.
- Support prototyping, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on system integration and testing.
- Produce clear and maintainable design documentation, schematics, and BOMs.
- Participate in R&D initiatives to explore and evaluate new technologies.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering (BEng or equivalent) – Essential.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in electronics development (industry or academic).
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals.
- Experience or interest in embedded systems, firmware, microcontrollers, or FPGAs is a plus.
- Proficiency in tools such as Altium Designer, MATLAB, or circuit simulation tools is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a technical, fast-paced environment.
- South African citizenship or valid work permit required.
