POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Junior HR & Payroll Administrator Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Junior HR & Payroll Administrator to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will play a key part in managing day-to-day payroll processing, HR administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate possesses strong mathematical aptitude, solid knowledge of statutory requirements, and hands-on experience with Sage systems. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing & Systems: Administer monthly\/weekly payrolls using Sage 300, ensuring high accuracy and strict adherence to deadlines. Manage Sage Employee Self-Service (ESS) and time-and-attendance records. Compliance & Reporting: Handle third-party and statutory submissions, including SARS, UIF, WCA, Provident Fund, and Bargaining Council (NBCCI) procedures and online systems. HR Administration: Support day-to-day HR operations, maintain accurate employee records, handle queries, and assist with onboarding. Communication: Serve as a bilingual communicator to assist staff and manage administrative documentation effectively in both English and isiZulu. Requirements & Qualifications Education & Experience Grade 12 \/ Matric (essential). Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management (essential). 1-2 years' experience in a dedicated HR\/Payroll role. A recognized Payroll Certificate or Diploma (highly advantageous). Technical & Language Skills Sage Systems: 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Sage 300 and Sage ESS (essential). MS Office: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Intermediate to Advanced Excel (essential). Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in both isiZulu and English (written and spoken) is essential. Time & Attendance: Hands-on experience with automated time-and-attendance systems (e.g., Beyond Attendance) is highly advantageous. Core Competencies Strong mathematical and numerical accuracy. Solid understanding of South African labour compliance (SARS, UIF, WCA, NBCCI). Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Proven ability to work under pressure and consistently meet strict deadlines.
