Junior IT Support Technician - Roodepoort

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A leading publisher in the South African School Book Market located in Roodepoort is looking for a Junior IT Support Technician to join their Team for a period of 12 months.

Requirements:

Hands-on experience with Windows/Mac OS environments.
Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners.
Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programmes.
Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
People oriented attitude.
Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Abilities: Friendly and positive attitude when inter-acting with customers, guests, employees, answering the telephone etc.
1 – 2 years of work experience.
Address issues regarding hardware, software and networking.
Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems.
Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions.
Conduct remote troubleshooting.
Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue.  Customise desktop applications to meet user needs.
Record technical issues and solutions in logs.
Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
Follow up with staff to ensure their systems are functional.
Report customer feedback and potential product requests
Help create technical documentation and manuals.
