Junior Legal Advisor & Contract Manager

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal and administrative support to the Chief Legal and Commercial Officer.
• Assist with general legal services and contract management activities.
• Prepare and record minutes of meetings where required.

• Draft, review and vet a variety of commercial agreements.
• Manage agreements such as non-disclosure agreements, supplier agreements and customer contracts.
• Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation through to execution and compliance monitoring.

• Maintain and manage a centralised contract register.
• Track important contract milestones including renewal dates, obligations and performance requirements.

• Provide practical legal guidance to internal departments on operational matters.
• Identify potential commercial risks and legal implications related to policies, agreements and company activities.

• Support the organisation in complying with relevant South African legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with compliance relating to the Companies Act, BEE, Employment Equity and internal governance frameworks.
• Manage the filing of CIPC and other statutory returns to ensure ongoing compliance.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as LLB, BCom Law, or Contract Management

• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a legal or contract management role.

Key Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to draft and structure legal documents independently.
• Working knowledge of the South African legal and regulatory environment, including corporate law and compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
