Junior Litigation Secretary

Our client, a well-established, well respected law firm, in Cape Town CBD, has a vacancy for a junior Litigation Secretary.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

• Matric, tertiary qualifications highly beneficial (Legal Secretarial N4-N6 or a related National Diploma)
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working in a commercial litigation department (including administrative duties related thereto)
• Must have experience in general litigation processes and protocols
• Must have experience working with court and online systems (Caselines/Court Online/Windeed/CIPC)
• Must be able to type and do dictaphone typing (above 60 words per minute)
• Experience with FICA requirements and Lexpro Bookkeeping System highly beneficial
• Computer literate (Full proficiency and ability to utilise and operate all suites of Microsoft Office)
• Must be a South African citizen

• Provide secretarial and administrative support to Attorneys in commercial/litigation department
• Preparation, formatting and compilation of pleadings, affidavits, memoranda, correspondences and bills of costs
• Opening of files and debiting of fees on Lexpro
• Schedule and set up appointments, client meetings and virtual meetings, court hearings or appearances.
• Transcribe and proofread legal documents and pleadings
• Type letters, affidavits, pleadings, bills of costs, legal opinions and documents
• Complete Dictaphone typing speedily and accurately
• Debit fees, generate or process invoices and bill clients
