SUMMARY:
Our client in the legal sector is looking for a Junior Paralegal to join their team in the Northern Suburbs. The ideal candidate will have a legal background and be a team player.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

Drafting of Wills
Assisting with reporting of deceased estates and trusts to the masters office
Placing advertisements
Obtaining the written confirmation of all assets and liabilities in the estate/trust
Make payments/distributions to creditors, heirs, and beneficiaries
Assisting with the communication with internal and external stakeholders
Ensuring that various stakeholders are advised of all progress towards the milestones in trusts/estates/wills
Following up and collecting proceeds payable to the estate
Transferring of assets to beneficiaries
Arranging suitable insurance of assets
Obtaining relevant tax certificates and providing it to the company’s tax service providers
Ensure the finalisation of the income tax assessment and obtain closure from SARS
Identify new business for the company
Preparing files for finalisation
Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and policies
Support the implementation of new processes, policies, and systems

Requirements:

Good negotiation and influencing skills
Relevant qualification or studying toward a Paralegal Diploma
Experience in the fiduciary environment
Knowledge of anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism principles
Excellent communication skills
Matric certificate
The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Computer literate
