Junior Process Engineer

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, simulation, and optimisation of Plastic-to-Chemical (PTC) processes.
• Conduct material and energy balance calculations and equipment sizing.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers for smooth project execution.
• Participate in process safety evaluations such as HAZOPs and risk assessments.
• Support commissioning, start-up, and ongoing operations by analysing plant performance and identifying improvements.
• Contribute to process control strategies and sustainability initiatives.
• Supervise lab-scale testing and potentially visit operational sites, including occasional international travel.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
• 2–3 years’ experience in process design, preferably in chemical or industrial plant settings (internships count).
• Strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat/mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, HTRI).
• Proactive and curious mindset, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• English fluency essential.
• Must be willing to relocate and work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Eindhoven.
