Junior Project Engineer

Our client, a leading player in the mineral processing sector, is seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical Project Engineer to join their dynamic project team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a high-paced environment and has a strong background in mechanical engineering within heavy industry or mineral processing plants.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from concept through to commissioning
• Oversee the design, specification, and procurement of mechanical equipment and systems
• Ensure all engineering activities are aligned with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including process, civil, and electrical engineers
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
• Prepare and review engineering documentation, including specifications, datasheets, and reports
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards throughout project execution

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• 5+ years of relevant project engineering experience in mineral processing, mining, or heavy industrial environments
• Proven track record in managing mechanical projects from design to completion
• Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment
• Familiarity with relevant engineering codes and standards
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Willingness to travel to project and plant sites as required
