JOB SUMMARY:
Junior Quality Technician – Pietermaritzburg

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in Pietermaritzburg is looking for a reliable person to join their dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

Perform incoming inspection of parts and components, recording results
Maintain quality records and documents verifying conformance to specifications
Unload and sort parts appropriately
Assist Production Engineer in adherence to quality standards
Maintain and dispose of non-conforming product
Perform final audit of internal and external finished product prior to shipment to customer
Support with problem solving and continuous improvement
Report all concerns to Production Engineer immediately
Provide support to all areas of the quality department as necessary, which may include containment, line inspection, etc.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 practises within a quality control environment
Be well versed in the Corrective action process and capable of working independently to lead investigations using Root Cause Analysis techniques
Be capable of maintaining extremely accurate and up-to-date registers of CARs (Corrective Action Reports), daily rejects, daily reworks, scrap rates etc
Be able to administrate daily operations and the issues arising out of these

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent desired
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Safety minded, reliable, precise and self-motivated
Ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years prior quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have a track record of implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 in a manufacturing environment
