Location: Hybrid \/ Remote – Johannesburg Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: SaaS | Financial Services | Software Testing WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a fast-growing SaaS technology business to recruit a smart and motivated Junior Software Tester . This is a hands-on QA role for someone who enjoys finding bugs, thinking through edge cases, and helping teams release reliable software with confidence. You’ll work closely with developers, product teams, and a senior QA professional while building strong testing foundations in a supportive environment. About the Role As Junior Software Tester, you will help ensure that every feature released works as expected across different client setups, real data scenarios, and realistic usage conditions. You’ll be involved in test planning, manual testing, regression support, bug reporting, and release readiness. This is a learning-focused role with real ownership from day one. Key Responsibilities Review specifications and write structured test plans Cover happy paths, edge cases, and regression scenarios Execute manual test cases for new features in staging and review environments Validate cross-client behaviour and reusable module consistency Simulate real-world usage scenarios across finance-sensitive workflows Test permission boundaries, client scoping, and multi-tenant data isolation Reproduce and document bugs with clear steps, screenshots, and logs Maintain and run manual regression checks for key workflows Collaborate with product managers to clarify acceptance criteria Work with developers and QA to test edge cases and improve release quality What You’ll Bring Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field advantageous Experience testing web applications with complex business rules Strong manual testing skills Ability to write clear bug reports, test cases, and reproduction steps Familiarity with GitHub, staging environments, and web-based admin tools Curious, structured, and detail-oriented testing mindset Strong collaboration and communication skills Nice to Have 2+ years in QA, software testing, or product validation Experience testing multi-tenant or B2B SaaS platforms Understanding of Django admin, permissions, and relational data Exposure to accounting, payroll, or HR systems Familiarity with Postman, Selenium, or Cypress Comfortable reading API specs or inspecting logs such as Sentry or console output What’s On Offer Competitive salary Direct mentorship from a Senior QA Engineer Growth opportunities in QA automation, product testing, or reliability Fast-moving platform where your work directly improves client confidence Collaborative, no-blame culture with strong feedback loops Opportunity to contribute to how releases are tested and delivered Company Culture This is a smart, agile, and close-knit team that values curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning.
