JOB SUMMARY:
An accounting firm based in the Upper Highway area is looking for a Junior Tax Assistant to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications:

Matric
1-year administrative / clerical experience

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
Knowledge of TaxWare, e-Filing, CaseWare Time and MS Office
Good at meeting deadlines
Exceptional client service and ability to develop excellent client relationships
Team player
Willingness to work overtime
Driver’s license and own vehicle

Main duties and responsibilities:

Type correspondence
Follow-up on objections at SARS
Follow-up on refunds from SARS
Printing of assessments on e-Filing
Emailing assessments to clients
Printing SARS correspondence
Send deferred reminders to clients
Capture receipts
Attend SARS appointments on behalf of clients or with clients
Assisting with bulk provisional deadline
General SARS matters, queries and follow ups
Completing SARS Power of Attorney forms
Completion of SARS public officer pack for appointing Public Officers
Capturing time sheets for Tax department
Capture and send invoices to clients
In-house tax filing
Updating TaxWare with address and telephone number changes
Attend SARS stakeholder’s meetings
Completing RAV01 Forms
Keeping of control lists for IT14SD: Notifying managers and maintaining reminders for due dates
Finalise income tax registrations
Relieve receptionist
