Junior Technical Draughtsman

Now Hiring: Junior Technical Draughtsman

Our client is a well-established metal manufacturing company based in the Blackheath, Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and is seeking a dynamic, energetic and detail-oriented Junior Draughtsman to join their team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Draughting Diploma (or a minimum of 3 years’ experience).
• Experience with Cad Drawing (Preferably AutoCad or Solidworks).
• Experience in metal fabrication and design principles (advantageous).
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Active listener and excellent communication skills.

• Component & parts designs and adherence to procedures and instructions to be followed for laser cutting and/or bending.
• Detailed design drawings and specifications are developed using AUTOCAD/SOLIDWORKS.
• Interprets customer drawings and samples, assessing whether all the information is available to create what the customer is looking for.
• Ensuring timely completion of all allocated projects.
• Creates vector drawings in the format required for production.
• Assist colleagues and customers with queries relating to part/component drawings.
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
• Fault finding technical/component issues and recommend necessary solution to resolve these problems technical/drawing/component issues.
• Specifications of sketches, drawings, ideas and related data are reviewed and analysed to assess factors affecting production.
• Control sample notes.
• Preparation of customer drawing before production.
• Consultation with colleagues/customers to design, layout or detail components and systems to resolve design or other problems.
• Maintain latest revision level at all times.
• Assist with fault finding on the laser machines during production (if applicable).
