Junior Trust Accountant

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a meticulous and qualified Accountant with strong attention to detail and a solid financial background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing financial statements—particularly for Trusts and Companies—and demonstrate accuracy, initiative, and accountability in managing financial data and reporting.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complete financial statements for Trusts (and limited companies)
• Process bank statements using Excel templates
• Process investment cash accounts and compile investment schedules
• Calculate loan interest where applicable
• Reconcile the company's Management fees
• Review resolutions, agreements, and supporting documentation
• Liaise with Administrators for supporting records and documents
• Populate Trial Balances on Excel and transfer figures into Draftworx
• Check and verify financial statement PDFs before submission for review

• Report on outstanding information required to finalize financial statements
• Update client tickets with progress and query notes
• Generate weekly WIP and pending sign-off/tax return reports

• Resolve financial statement-related queries
• Prepare interest calculations upon request and submit for review before release
• Respond promptly to additional financial information requests

• Maintain consistent follow-ups on outstanding client information and documentation
• Ensure all deliverables are met within required timelines

• Accurately complete and submit weekly timesheets by COB Fridays

• Prepare and load DRAFT tax returns on MNS (not submit)
• Save DRAFT returns to server for review
• Create new entities on MNS and liaise with MRA for client detail updates

Qualifications & Experience

• A relevant financial qualification (e.g., BCom Accounting, Financial Management, or similar)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in accounting, with exposure to Trusts preferred
• Proficient in Excel and accounting software such as Draftworx and MNS
• Strong reconciliation, reporting, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
