JOB SUMMARY:
Opportunity available for Junior Underwriter to assist Management with administrative and general office duties and ensure efficient service to our clients, brokers and Insurers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Competent with Excel and Microsoft Office
Post matric qualification
1-2 years experience within the short term insurance industry within a underwriting department

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting Underwriters with their administration and any peripheral requirements. This includes preparing quotes, endorsements, cancellations, policies etc.
Loading and processing – including new business quotes, renewals, endorsements, cancellations etc.
Diarising renewals and assisting Underwriters however required – in terms of chasing proposals, cover requirement and full risk details as required.
Arranging surveys and diarising survey requirements and keeping Underwriters updated with regard to compliance or non-compliance and chasing the client/account handler as and when necessary.
Attend to all post / correspondence
Scanning / Filing
Printing renewal lists and assisting Underwriters with renewal preparation.
Raising debits/credits
Assisting with premium allocations
Opening new files
Issuing policies and arranging distribution as and when required.
Compiling loss ratios as and when required
Adhering to Insurer binders and outsource agreements
