JOB SUMMARY:
Our manufacturing client in Germiston is looking for an energetic warehouse assistant to join their team!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Warehouse Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

Receiving delivered items and add to inventory
Organise the removal of stock from delivery trucks and the delivery to proper locations
Move inventory and materials across facilities
Sort, organize and safely store inventory in the proper locations
Stack and organize large bulk items
Package items and label correctly
Process inventory for delivery or collections
Manage materials from warehouse to pick-up locations and collection vehicles
Update logs and documentation for inventory processing
Manage daily stock control of consumables store
Recording and upkeep of daily inventory list
Prepare documentation and inventory for audits and stocktakes
Prepare warehouse for Audits and stocktakes
Report damaged or missing inventory to management
Wear safety gear at all times
Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store inventory (training will be given)
Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles
Work as an active team member to complete team goals

Warehouse Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

Grade 12 High school pass
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with inventory software, and able to upload data into the company system
Analytical skills
Mathematical skills
Computer literacy – Ms Excel / Word and Outlook
Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift
Physically fit (manual handling involved) Physically able to lift up to 25Kg or more
Able to work independently
Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory
Highly organized and able to store items efficiently
Must follow all health and safety procedure and regulations as dictated by the company
Positive "can do attitude" with ambition to excel
Commitment and honesty
Strong communications and customer service skills
Experience receiving & dispatching stock
License to operate forklift as needed – If not training will be given
Valid driver's license
