SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established international FMCG cosmetic ingredient manufacturing company based in Kempton Park, has a position for a Key Account Manager.

POSITION INFO:

The position will hold responsibility for sales growth and strategy within the client base of South Africa and at a later stage, Sub-Saharan Africa. This position is open to all suitably qualified and experienced applicants.

 

The successful candidate will maintain core listing and service levels with key clients, while developing the sales strategy, and building relationships with relevant agents. The position reports to the Sales Director for the division.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify growth potential with new and existing customers with clear development strategies and demonstrate initiative
  • Prepare Account Plans for identified Strategic Accounts
  • Development & Execution of strategic/business plans for profitable business growth within given customer portfolio
  • Capable of and the ability to manage and set sales related targets
  • Maintenance and defence/ organic growth of established FRA business
  • Identify strategies to grow business through new projects and wins.
  • Commercial planning for customer basket (budgeting, rolling sales forecasts)
  • Manage profitability by customer portfolio and/or product
  • Ability to prepare & present to clients & internal stakeholders (concepts, trends, workshops, presentations, consumer insights)
  • Collaborate and work in close partnership with agents / distributors

Project Management:

  • Accurate interpretation and management of project/brief information or requirements into evaluation/technical/marketing etc and back to client.
  • Develop olfactive capability over time
  • Understand and promote company capabilities
  • Planning and maintaining product portfolio between client and company operations

Order & Financial Management:

  • Understand the complexities of Order Management cycle and support the company and its clients towards successful order completion
  • Collaborate and work in close partnership with supply chain, customer service and all relevant stakeholders, thus enabling sustainable growth
  • Update rolling forecast periodically (minimum once per month)
  • Ensure timely collection / troubleshooting of Account Receivables where necessary.

 

Special Skills/Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or similar, and/or commercial degree
  • 7 years’ experience in the Fragrance/Cosmetic Ingredient industry (or related industry)
  • Business Development Skills
  • Commercial & Analytical Acumen
  • Marketing knowledge and understanding of trends
  • Evaluation – Fragrance and FG
  • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate and engage with Senior Management at Customer and Company
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Self-disciplined and goal orientated
  • Presentation skills – development and conceptualizing.
  • Computer Literate (SAP, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel)

 

Salary is R----- CTC per annum negotiable, great benefits and 13th cheque.
