JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Natural Sciences wishes to appoint a Lecturer who is an enthusiastic academic that can work independently and within the team in the department. The primary purpose of the position is to contribute in teaching, research, administration and community engagement in the department of Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Health Sciences broadly.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Master’s degree in Physiology and completed Physiology as a subject at third year undergraduate level
  • Ability to use Microsoft suit
  • Good language and communication skills in English
ADDED ADVANTAGES:

  • PhD or advanced PhD studies
  • Three years teaching experience in Physiology in a Tertiary environment will be an added advantage.
  • Postgraduate diploma in higher education
  • Basic research skills and demonstrable ability to be involved in research projects in Physiology
  • Demonstrable peer-reviewed publications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Teach Physiology to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences
  • Conduct research in the field of Physiology and publish in accredited journals
  • Take initiative in the upgrading of Physiology Laboratory
  • Participate in the development, management and implementation of new programs in the field of Physiology
  • Participate in the related administrative tasks as well as leadership in the department
