The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer: Physical/Computational Chemistry in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Agriculture.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lecturer:
Minimum Requirements:

A Doctoral degree in Chemistry
At least 3 years of relevant university teaching experience in Physical and Computational Chemistry.
A proven research and publication record (at least five (5) DHET accredited peer-reviewed journals articles.
Ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students.
Ability to raise funds to support own research.
A knowledge of DHET policies and procedures.

Senior Lecturer:
Minimum Requirements:

A Doctoral degree in Chemistry
At least 5 years of relevant university teaching experience in Physical and Computational Chemistry.
A proven research and publication record (at least ten (10) DHET accredited peer-reviewed journals articles).
Ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students.
Ability to raise funds to support own research.
A knowledge of DHET policies and procedures.

Duties

Teach modules in Computational Chemistry at undergraduate
Supervise postgraduate research within the areas of Physical and/or Computational Chemistry
Attract research funding and participate in community engagement
Undertake normal administrative functions related to the Department of Chemistry and Faculty of Science and Agriculture
Involvement in curriculum design, programme or module review.
