Lead BI Technical Specialist

POSITION INFO:

Our client a global tech firm is seeking a Lead BI Technical Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg on a contract basis.

Description

Required a resource accountable to lead and implement BI Technical development, in close liaison with all levels of Business and applying business knowledge to supply intelligent data for decision making

Requirements

Design, develop, maintain and monitor all ETL processes to populate the data warehouse, operational data stores and data marts. This includes the resolution of failures 24/7/365.
Work closely with Business and BI Analysts to design data models for strategic reporting, including x-discipline reports on all platforms
Upon request, analyse, design, develop and implement Business Intelligence solutions from source to output with built-in workflows and controls
Implement measures to proactively ensure data integrity, also complying to SOX controls
Respond rapidly to business changes, e.g. company structures and rule changes in master data
Identify initiatives and implement processes to promote self-help BI
Identify initiatives and implement processes to automate the management of the BI environment
Provide support to all levels of Business and BI Analysts, technically and in an advisory capacity
Work closely with the BI architect to
ensure high levels of BI availability
implement new BI Technology recommendations i.e. upgrades and conversions.

Qualifications and experience:

BCom/BSc or diploma with IT specialization or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
A thought partner for the technical and analysis members of the team
Good communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills.
Project and program management skills and experience
