Lead Front End Developer

SUMMARY:
Experienced and well-qualified Lead Developer to support its local and international digital health projects in the public health technology sector.

POSITION INFO:

This is both a technical and leadership role working within a lively business and technical team

Deliver effective health information systems and integrate health architectures on various digital and health information systems in South African as well as other African counties

Connect with a global set of stakeholders and international communities of practice

Skills & Experience:

Excellent understanding of web technologies and protocols

Extensive experience as a lead or senior software engineer, with the ability to mentor and lead a development team

Excellent coding skills and understanding of software design patterns and architecture

Front End development experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and relevant web platforms and libraries (such as AngularJS, Spring MVC, React)

Use of Agile development practices

Expertise in relational database development

Must have the ability to take ownership of the software deliverables and work unsupervised by other senior developers

Will be responsible for risk management of the overall software product

Extensive experience in system interoperability

Strong dev-ops experience

Other tools: Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant, Jenkins, Travis and lots and lots of EC2 and Digital Ocean VMs

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Java and JavaScript technologies withing a production enterprise environment

Qualification:

Relevant certification or degree
