POSITION INFO:
As a Lead Mechanical Installations Technician, you will take charge of the installation, replacement, and optimization of mechanical systems at a large transportation hub.
This includes sustainable upgrades to existing installations such as heating systems, cooling units, and sanitation.
You will:

• Lead small mechanical installation projects on-site, ensuring timely and high quality delivery.
• Collaborate with technicians, electricians, and service teams to ensure seamless installation and operational readiness.
• Guide and mentor junior technicians and third-party contractors.
• Monitor the progress of work and report technical improvements and safety observations.
• Work at various high-profile and technically challenging locations — from aircraft hangars to technical facilities.

• A completed Red Seal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar (e.g., Fitter, HVAC Technician, Pipefitter).
• Several years of experience in mechanical installation work in commercial or industrial settings.
• Familiarity with hydraulic, HVAC, and sanitary installations.
• Leadership skills and the ability to train and support apprentices or subcontractors.
• A valid VCA certificate (or willingness to obtain it).
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English - and motivated to learn Dutch
