POSITION INFO:
As a Lead Mechanical Installations Technician, you will take charge of the installation, replacement, and optimization of mechanical systems at a large transportation hub.
This includes sustainable upgrades to existing installations such as heating systems, cooling units, and sanitation.
You will:

Lead small mechanical installation projects on-site, ensuring timely and high quality delivery.
Collaborate with technicians, electricians, and service teams to ensure seamless installation and operational readiness.
Guide and mentor junior technicians and third-party contractors.
Monitor the progress of work and report technical improvements and safety observations.
Work at various high-profile and technically challenging locations — from aircraft hangars to technical facilities.

What You Bring
You’re a hands-on technician who takes initiative, communicates clearly, and enjoys mentoring others. You understand the technical and logistical aspects of installation work and bring a solution-oriented mindset.
You also offer:

A completed Red Seal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar (e.g., Fitter, HVAC Technician, Pipefitter).
Several years of experience in mechanical installation work in commercial or industrial settings.
Familiarity with hydraulic, HVAC, and sanitary installations.
Leadership skills and the ability to train and support apprentices or subcontractors.
A valid VCA certificate (or willingness to obtain it).
Fluent in Afrikaans and English - and motivated to learn Dutch
