Lead Solar Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
Are you passionate about renewable energy? Here is an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to lead a team of Solar PV design Engineers. In this role you will work on exciting high end residential and commercial projects, where you will be responsible for design, site inspections and council approvals.

POSITION INFO:

Leading a team of solar engineers

Solar PV systems design

Working on projects from 100KW to 10MW

Council approvals

Tariff analysis

Performing Energy Yield Analysis using Helioscope & PVSyst

Determining suitable system size/requirements using load profile and energy bills

Conducting site inspections and ensuring installations are per client requirements and design specifications

Reviewing tender documentation

Skills & Experience:

Ability to lead a team of design engineers

Attention to detail

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Experience conducting Site inspections and dealing with subcontractors

Experience dealing with clients

Proficient in helioscope or similar software

Must have experience working on Commercial and Residential projects

Clear understanding of Regulations and dealing with municipalities

Experience with rooftop and ground mount PV systems design

Minimum 7 – 10 years’ experience

Qualification:

BSc / BEng / BTech Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering

Valid drivers’ license

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
